Hello

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We are Wil, Shelley, and Ruby. We truly appreciate the love you feel for your child, your thoughts and desires are important to us.

Our Story

We first met seven years ago, and there was an immediate attraction. Wil’s family knew me (Shelley) and it was obvious they wanted us to get more acquainted. Wil’s brother started the connection, and we soon had our first date. We were both so nervous! We saw each other every day thereafter. After a few months, we were planning our future, most conversations led to having children.> > We took the non-traditional approach, and got pregnant with Ruby, then married after. Looking back, we wouldn’t change a thing! We had a beautiful beach wedding, that she was a part of. We have a strong love for each other, we are best friends.> > .

Everyday life

We regularly attend church. Our faith is Lutheran. Wil is active in a men’s Bible study group, and has volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity, sponsored by our church. We both have attended an adoption seminar, sponsored by our church. Ruby enjoys sitting at the service with us, or attending their children’s program and vacation Bible school. Any race of child will feel right at home with our racially and culturally diverse family, friends, and community. A good education is important to us. We want to provide the best education possible for our children. We realize each child has unique interests and strengths, and our plan is to focus on this, to help them grow. Ruby has attended a Montessori school, which allows children to learn at their own pace, in a very nurturing environment. We anticipate a limited amount of daycare. We are fortunate to have Shelley’s flexible schedule, so one of us will be home most of the time. We have many close friends and family members eager to help. As he/she gets older, we live five minutes from a great school, which Ruby already attends. It is small enough that all of the staff and teachers know each child by name, and they get the individual attention they need from their teacher. We currently live in a charming three bedroom, two bathroom home. We are anxious to finish the nursery. We live in a quiet neighborhood, with children of all ages playing together.

We plan to have annual trips to Florida, to celebrate our anniversary. We also enjoy traveling to new places. If you prefer an open adoption, we will respect your wishes, and make future plans of vacations to include visits. You may wonder, why we want to adopt. We have tried to have another child, which led to a miscarriage and complications. We have decided to let God lead us, to what is meant to be. Wil was adopted by his Step Father at age 3, never knowing his Biological Father until he was 39. Now they have a great relationship. Shelley has had two close friends that were adopted. These events in our lives have made us who we are today. We hope to be blessed with another child through adoption. We wish you the best on your journey, and look forward to getting to know you!
