ABOUT US

We actually met in an Internet chat room in 1999! After finally meeting face to face, we fell in love, and married in 2001. We truly are each other’s best friend and we hate being apart. Traveling throughout the U.S. is a favorite, but we especially love our regular vacations to Hawaii. We can’t wait to share these adventures with our child and create new family memories. Living in Southern California, we are able to take advantage of the many outdoor activities it has to offer—riding our bikes along the beach, hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, and playing in the ocean. We can already picture our child building his or her first sandcastle. Eating dinner together as a family every night is a priority, followed by a walk with our sweet, gentle dog, Ginger. We can’t wait to push a stroller on those neighborhood walks.> > We live in a beautiful area of Los Angeles called Mar Vista, which is centrally located and just three miles from the beach. And because our house has three bedrooms, you can be certain this child will have his or her own room! Plus, we have no intention to move, as this neighborhood is close-knit and kid friendly. Actually, we are really looking foward to having all the neighborhood kids over to play with our child in our backyard!! There is also a park across the street from our home that has a terrific playground, grassy fields, and an awesome swimming pool. In fact, as a child, Jean took her swimming lessons there! They also have organized activities throughout the year and we are excited to be able to take our child to their Easter egg hunts and the annual Halloween Spooktacular.

OUR FAMILIES

Tim is from Northern California and his parents have lived in the same home for over forty years. Tim has an older brother who is married with a teenage son and daughter. We visit Tim’s family three to four times a year, but it is at Christmas time when we see all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jean’s parents live in the same house she grew up in which is only a mile away from our home. Being so close, they are always there when we need them. Jean has one brother who lives in Orange County, CA. Although Jean’s immediate family is small, her extended family is huge with twenty-six first cousins scattered around the country. We are excited to give Jean’s parents their first grandchild and Tim’s parents their third. In fact, Tim’s mom is so excited, she has already picked out a crib! But what we really want is to share with our child what our parents gave to us—unconditional love and support, along with our values of faith, family, and education. Just like our parents were there for us, we will be there for our child every step of the way.

WHY WE LOVE EACH OTHER

WHY I LOVE JEAN, BY TIM I am so fortunate to have Jean in my life. The amount of love and nurturing she offers me daily is immeasurable. I can only imagine how much she will give our child. There’s not a person I’ve met that’s a better listener than Jean. I can already visualize her sitting at the kitchen table allowing our child to discuss his or her day’s events. Jean loves to have fun and be silly and no matter how busy her schedule may be, I know she will always make time to play with our child. Jean is a registered dental hygienist and has been practicing since 1996. She only works two days a week and will spend the rest of her time at home caring for our child. Jean also enjoys baking, reading and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I can picture her making Rice Krispie Treats with our child, and ending the busy day with a bedtime story. WHY I LOVE TIM, BY JEAN Gentle, thoughtful, and loving are three words that best describe Tim. His energy, determination, and strong work ethic are the reasons he is so successful at work and in life. Since graduating from college, Tim has worked as a sales representative for a company that rents and sells heavy equipment such as bulldozers and forklifts. His seriousness at work is a result of his number one goal—taking care of his family and being a good provider no matter what. But Tim is not all work and no play! He is fun and outdoorsy and loves to get outside and do things. Bike riding, hiking, running, and following sports are some of his favorite things. I know he can’t wait to take our child to Dodger baseball games every summer! But Tim is especially passionate about gardening. I can already see Tim and our child planting flowers in our yard while taking time to make a mud pie or two. Tim possesses a quiet strength and a heart full of loving openness. As a parent, Tim will be the finest role model, exercising fairness and compassion. He is just an all-around great guy. I have been so blessed to have him in my life and I know he will be a wonderful dad.
