About Our Family
Hello,
We are Ira & Candice and we would like to start out by saying that adoption is near and dear to our hearts. Without adoption, we would never have been able to start a family and know the excitement, joy, and love that our son brings to our lives every day.
Our son is truly a gift. We appreciate all that our son's birth mother has done in order to provide us with her special gift of a precious life. It is something that we think of every day. We have an open relationship with all of Alex's birth family and welcome an open adoption plan.
We want to add to our joy and add to our family by adopting another child.
Please learn a little about our family -
We live in Phoenix, Arizona.
The best way to describe us is to say that we are a t-shirt and jeans kind of family - comfortable.
We have a secure long-standing marriage based on love, trust, communication and honesty. We are truly the best of friends.
We own our own home with a HUGE backyard for Alex to run around and play with Mollie, our dog. We also share our house with 2 fish, a snail and a frog.
We are also a really active family who like to have fun. Why sit in front of the TV when you can go bicycling, camping, swimming and hiking. There is a desert Mountain Preserve a few blocks behind our house and we love to take the short hike up to the top. Alex says it’s “our mountain.” We also like to explore Arizona on weekend trips, visits to the zoo, eating out or just hanging out with our family and friends. Don't get us wrong, we like to relax too - there's nothing better than to snuggle on the couch for a movie and popcorn.
We are a Christian family and faith is important to our family life. We try to instill this into our son as well.
As parents, we will love and cherish our children until the end of time, providing them with our unconditional love and affection, treating them with kindness and respect. We realize that our time and attention is one of the most valuable things we can give our children. We strive to be the type of parents that our children can come to with any problem without us “freaking out.”
