Dear Birth Mother
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for your strong commitment to finding the best possible future for your baby. Your selfless decision shows your devotion and courage to make hard choices. We can only imagine how difficult, scary, and emotional this time must be for you. We do hope that through the process of open adoption you can find comfort. We truly appreciate you learning about us and considering what a great life we could offer your child. We are very excited to meet you and share our lives. We eagerly await the day and hope that you will feel like a part of our extended family as we journey through this process together.

About Us
We are Ryan and Maria. We were best friends all through high school. When we started college, we fell in love. Our friends and family say that two people that had that close of a relationship would have to one day realize that the person they thought was their best friend was in fact the best person for them. We have been together for since 1992 and married since 2000. We are still best friends.>

Our dream of having a family came true for us when we adopted our son Quinn in 2006. It is almost too hard to put into words the joyful and amazing ride it has been. Our life with our son is amazing and his birthmother will eternally hold a special place in our hearts for choosing us. We have a great relationship with Quinn’s birthmother. We email each other frequently and share photographs. She visited Quinn around his first birthday and we had a wonderful time playing at the beach. Our dream, however, is not complete. We both come from large boisterous loving families and our siblings are as much a part of us as our parents. We feel that family means brothers and sisters and we want our children to feel that sense of family. >

About Maria
When Quinn came into our lives, Maria left her career as a fashion buyer to take on her most cherished role as mother. It was important to her to be there to raise our child. She did not want to miss a first step or a first word and looks forward to a future of making costumes for school recitals and cheering from the bleachers at little league games. Still having a love for the fashion industry, she works part-time from home as a sales representative for a shoe company. Maria is very active and social. She befriended every mom on our block and started a playgroup so Quinn could socialize with children his age. She enjoys taking Quinn to gymnastics and swim classes, and goes almost weekly to the aquarium and Disneyland. Maria’s happiest moments are seeing the joy and wonder on Quinn’s face as he plays and explores the world.

About Ryan
Ryan is an animator and works on movies. Most recently he was part of a team that won the academy award for best visual effects. He works at a very family friendly company that gives him ten weeks of vacation each year. He enjoys teaching Quinn how to draw and goes through reams of paper. He is constantly bringing home books that he loved as a child, sitting down with Quinn snug in his lap, and taking him on an adventure through the pages. He is so creative and easily inspired to build, paint, or just play pretend. Quinn is captivated by him and learns so much from Ryan’s constructive play
