Our Adoption Journey

Our Journey to adoption began the moment we met. As we got to know about one another, it became obvious that we shared the common desire to be parents. This was one of the many qualities that drew us together. As we planned our life together, we dreamt of one day having a family of our own.> > Shortly after our wedding, we began trying to have a family. Over the next several years we endured two unsuccessful pregnancies, but our desire to be parents never faded. The disappointments we suffered only helped cement our commitment to each other and strengthen our desire to be parents.> > As our options for starting our own family were running out, we began researching adoption, going to support groups and talking with all of our friends who had gone through the adoption process. Then one day it just "clicked". Adoption was God's plan for us. Once we had this revelation we went full speed ahead. In no time at all we hired an attorney, had our home study done by a social worker, petitioned the courts, and now here we are.> > In preperation of becoming adoptive parents, we have joined our local chapter of APC, an adoptive family group which provides education and support for families looking to adopt children as well as a social and support network of adoptive families and children. We have also taken parenting and child care classes at the local hospital. We even have a room in our home that is ready to become a nursery for the child that blesses our lives.> > We look forward to when our Journey to Adoption is complete, and our lifelong dream of parenthood begins. >

About Us

We have been happily married for 3 years. Our relationship is built on a foundation of love, trust, respect and communication. As a couple we have laughed ourselves silly, cried on each others shoulders and lifted one another up. We can truly say that we are each others best friend. We are both college educated professionals and can provide all the love, support and opportunities that a child deserves. Of every thing in life, we value family above all. We both come from close-knit families, and cherish the love and support we have received all of our lives. Whether it is a holiday, or just a Sunday afternoon, family gatherings are almost a weekly occurrence in our home. The child who blesses our lives will also have waiting for them 3 grandparents, 7 aunts and uncles and countless cousins to love (and spoil) them. We live in a lovely 3 bedroom home with a huge play room complete with craft and game table, home theater and, of course, Wii. Our large backyard is filled with beautiful flowers, a vegetable garden, swimming pool, and covered patio. Our home is nestled on a quiet, tree lined street just steps from several beautiful parks, minutes from several beaches, and a short train ride from all that New York City has to offer. Our suburban community is proud of our top-rated schools. Our neighborhood spirit is celebrated with our annual relay-for-life fundraiser as well as several community fairs and festivals through out the year.
