Kelly & Sophie Profile

Dear Special Friend,

We are deeply thankful for your humble choice to give the gift of life to your child and the gift of unselfish love to a hopeful family. Although we have not yet met you, we already feel that you are a person of great courage and love. We have so much love and respect for you and for your strength, that is why we call you a "special friend" not just a birthparent, because you are so much more than just that. We are praying for the right special friend to recognize us as the right family to raise her child, maybe we are the answer to one another's prayers. We know you are making difficult decisions and we wish you much peace and comfort during this time in your life. We hope through this profile that you will come to a sense of who we are. Please know that we will always honor and cherish you and your love for this child. We have a lot of love to give and we hope you will consider our family for your precious angel.

WELCOME, E KOMO MAI, BIENVENIDO, WILLKO

We are glad you are taking the time to take a peek at our lives, and we are happy to share a little or a lot about ourselves. Of course, if you ever have any questions that we don't answer here, please know that we are always open to speaking with you and we would love to get to know you, if that is what you wish. > We are KELLY and SOPHIE. We recently moved from Hawaii's North Shore to a cute little country town in the Louisville, KY area, while Kelly attends an Orthodontic residency program. We share our home and much love with our three children Elijah (Big Bro'), Noah (Buddy), and Eva Sophia (Pretty Princess). Our home is full of love and laughter, fun and caring. We love playing indoor and outdoor games, learning new languages (Kelly speaks Spanish fluently, Sophie speaks German and the kids have been learning Hawaiian, Korean and Japanese in school), traveling the world, going to Disneyland, and just being together as a forever family. >

FUTURE BROTHERS & SISTER

You may be wondering why we want to add to our family through adoption when we have three great kids already. So, Why Adoption?? We have felt for some time that there is a little angel baby missing from our family circle. Pregnancy was very difficult for Sophie, as she would start going into labor after the 12th week and need to be on "bed rest" for the rest of her pregnancies. Even with that, our oldest son was born 6 weeks prematurely and the other two were born three weeks early and very small. We and our Doctors decided that it would be too hard on Sophie and the rest of the family to try and have another child the traditional way. This was a difficult decision because we know, without a doubt, that there is another child waiting to join our family. It is so hard when your body won't respond to the wishes of your heart. So, we have turned to the blessing of adoption to find our youngest child, the precious "baby" of the family. There are many advantages for your baby to have siblings. When a child is young, they have playmates; as they get older, they have friends that often enjoy the same activities; and as they get into adulthood, they are able to have lifelong friendships and a well-developed support system. We are so excited to have a new little angel in our home again, our kids are always on the look-out for cute baby clothes, shoes, and fun toys--let me tell you this baby has 3 very excited siblings ready to take care of him/her! They come up with baby names, nursey themes, and argue over who gets to share thier room and change diapers (who knew kids would be so happy about that?) Your baby is in for lots of lovin' in our home, everyone wants in on all the joys a new baby brings. ADOPTION ROCKS!

HOME & FAMILY

We are both grateful for the strong CHRISTIAN values taught to us by our parents. They love us unconditionally and cheer us on with whatever we strive to accomplish. Both sets of parents have strong, loving marriages that set a lasting example for us every day. Of course, the good times come along with the bad, but there is no better way to go through life than with your best friend. We are truly the BEST of FRIENDS. Your child will have the benefit of being around a large, happy, accepting, loving extended family with many aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins ready to "spoil" your baby with love and attention. We believe that every child is a CHILD OF GOD and worthy of all the caring and love that HEAVEN has to offer, in our family here on earth. We know that each child has a special spirit, unique to them, and they need their own set of rules to learn by. We do not compare our children to each other, we know they are each special children of God with unique strengths and weaknesses. We love to travel and give our children life experiences through learning about different cultures. Vacation time for us means visiting family and taking our own family vacations, usually to the beach or to Disneyland (the most magical place on earth). We just love to be together! Education is very important to us and we strive to not only achieve our educational goals, (Kelly is going back to school to earn his Orthodontic degree [braces anyone?] and Sophie is studying at home, part-time to earn her Bachelor's in Health and Wellness) but to also learn something new every day. Your child will have the best opportunities and encouragement to achieve whatever he/she desires to be.
