Hi! We are Jim and Candy Jensen

We would like to thank you for taking the time to read our letter and get to know a little about us. We are so excited about starting our family through adoption. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity to get to know you as well and your hopes for your baby. We look forward to talking with you, and building a relationship that is based on openness and honesty.

About Us

We both worked for the same company when we first met 12 years ago. We knew we were meant to be together and got married 6 years later. We are still best friends, and have a very strong relationship based on trust as well as respect. Many of our friends and family have commented on how much we are alike, and yet we seem to balance each other nicely.> > Jim loves kids of all ages, and can't wait to experience all that comes with being a father. He loves the outdoors and looks forward to continuing some family traditions such as camping, trips to the snow, and Disneyland. I know that he will make a great father, and can't wait to start this chapter of our lives together.> > Candy is looking forward to everything from midnight feedings, diaper changes and lullabies to camping trips, slumber parties and more craft nights. She also looks forward to passing on some of her family traditions such as baking cookies during the holidays, pumpkin carving and decorating during Halloween and family get-togethers.

Our Home

We have lived in our cozy home in Tracy, CA for the last 5 years. Our backyard is perfect for playing. Jim even built a barbeque which is often used for family gatherings. There is also a park just a few blocks from our home. We share our home with our pets (they are not just pets - but part of the family): brother and sister cats, Bo and Jade; and Bear, our very playful yellow lab. Bear's favorite pastime is playing catch and we can't wait to welcome our new little pitcher.

Raising Our Child and Our Family

Even before we got married, we knew that we wanted to become parents someday. We now look forward to being able to share the love that we have, and provide a nurturing, stable environment for our child. We would like to raise our child with traditional values, lots of love, and encouragement. We want our child to be part of a happy home, to grow and learn from the earliest stages. Our child will receive our support whenever needed, help in learning from mistakes, and most importantly, unconditional love. Our family is an important part of our lives and we love spending time with them. The majority of our family is less than an hour drive away. There are lots of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents that are excited to be part of this process and welcome a new addition to the family. There will not be a shortage of playmates, arms to be snuggled in, or laps to sit on. We try to enjoy at least one camping trip a year with as much of our family as possible. Making gooey s'mores, giong for bike rides, hiking, fishing, enjoying nature and playing games together are some of the activities we will enjoy when our little one joines in all the fun.
