About Us

Hello! We are Jason Mayfield and Colleen Keirn from Oakland, California, about 15 miles from San Francisco. Thank you for considering us as the adoptive family for your child. We know you love your baby very much and we respect your courage and commitment to consider open adoption. We are committed to a relationship with you that makes you feel most comfortable and fits best into your life. We look forward to getting to know you better. In our free time we enjoy working on our garden, planting vegetables or just being together. We love going to San Francisco on the ferry and seeing the massive cargo ships and then going to museums or to a baseball game. Jason enjoys house projects and is very handy. Colleen enjoys quilting and is learning how to sew stuffed animals. We enjoy cooking and baking, hiking in local parks, playing games and solving puzzles, and snuggling with our dogs on the couch watching Giants baseball, college football or Lakers basketball.

About Colleen, About Jason

Colleen cares a lot about those around her and about people she doesn't even know. She is very clever and creative and sews beautiful things. She loves to sit down with our young friends and read a story, to play in the sandbox or to have a snack. She loves to bake, our house is always filled with the smell of a pie or cookies in the oven. She is very creative and crafty and loves helping kids draw and color. I know she will be a warm, caring mother.> > Jason is also a very caring person. He is very loving and affectionate towards his family members. He loves playing games with our niece and nephew, either outside in the sandbox, or inside with toys. He was the first one to help out when our nephew had colic, taking the midnight shift so his brother and sister-in-law could sleep. He can’t wait to be a baseball or softball coach and to take the Boy or Girl Scout troop on camping trips. I know he will be a loving and dedicated father.

Our Families

Our families and friends are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our newest family member. We have a small immediate family, but with extended and chosen family members, we have a large network of loving adults and children who are eager to babysit, teach our child how to play soccer or princesses, or play Legos and army guys. Though for some reason no one has volunteered to change diapers. We are confident the warmest welcome will be from our two Gordon Setters, Fudge and Mocha, who will be quick to snuggle, to teach our child how to play fetch and most importantly how to fill up their food bowls.

Our Home

We live in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, an area rich in history but also in the many cultures of people who live here. We love going to local music performances, ranging from the symphony to the local Dia de los Muertos festival. We also love the various museums with art from many different cultures, countries and times, as well as the local science museum and aquarium. Our neighborhood is a long established one, though there are many families with young children on our block. We are looking forward to getting together with our neighbors for play outings to the children’s museum, to the park or to see a baseball game.
