We're Katie and Eleanor
Greetings from Greensboro, North Carolina! We are happy that you are reading our profiel and we than you for considering open adoption. We hope you find peace as you make the best decisions for you and your child's future. We’d love to have the opportunity to get to know you and see if we are the right fit for both you and your baby. Our families in NC and MA eagerly await the addition of a child to the family. With a stable, loving, and supportive home, we look forward to filling our lives with wonderful experiences as a happy family.
We dream of a future with a child to love. We are grateful to have the ability to offer a nurturing, stable home full of love and opportunities. Whether it’s dance, music, school or sports, we look forward to watching our child grow up, explore his or her interests, and become the person he or she is meant to be. We believe part of what makes a family is the amount of love given to a child. The part of open adoption we like most is that there is no limit on the love for this child. We would like to develop a respectful relationship with you based on your wishes and level of comfort. We hope our letter helps to answer your questions about us and our commitment to each other, to our future child, and to you.

Our Story & Our Family
We met through mutual friends in 2006 and quickly became inseparable. Our relationship has grown stronger than we thought possible. We are best friends and soulmates. Our life together is full of laughter whether we’re watching a movie or cooking dinner. We love spending time outdoors. Making s’mores and listening to crickets while camping will make for great family weekends. We enjoy playing with our horses, Liberty and Generator. They will appreciate the extra attention (and carrots) as our child learns to handle them gently. Our dog, Rokky, will easily keep up with a stroller during neighborhood walks. Our lazy cats love naps and cozy laps. We are thrilled about sharing our home, laughter, and love with our child. Both of our families eagerly await the new addition to our family. Eleanor’s parents and sister, Emily, live a short drive away. Her other siblings, Ben and Jennifer, live in Arizona and New York. Our child will enjoy family gatherings full of fun, food, and laughter. Nana and Auntie Emily can’t wait explore the butterfly garden and visit the meerkats at the zoo with our little one. We travel to Massachusetts often to visit Katie’s large family. Her parents can’t wait to make lots of visits to our house when our child arrives. Our child will love hunting for crabs at the beach and inventing new games with Nanie and Grampy during summer vacations. Katie’s brother, Jeff, and his wife, Dana, have two boys, Chase and Sawyer. They are currently the “babies” but look forward to being the BIG BOYS, so they can show their new cousin how to throw balls and drive toy trucks. Our eight-year old niece, Baylee, who lives nearby will be an amazing helper. She is already collecting books she wants to read to her new cousin and has asked if she can help make homemade baby food with vegetables from her garden.

Katie & Eleanor
Eleanor makes me laugh more than anyone I have ever known! She is witty and smart and I love spending time with her. Being an elementary school teacher fits her well. She loves “her” kids at school and has always dreamed of being a mom. She brings out the best in her students and I know she will be the same way as a mother. She plans to take time off to be at home with our child. During summer vacations, Eleanor looks forward to taking our child to the park and teaching him or her how to swim. Eleanor has her Master’s Degree in Reading Education. I can picture her cuddled up with our child at bedtime reading Goodnight Moon.
Katie is an amazing woman! She teaches me to live life to its fullest, and I know she will inspire our child to be passionate about life. Whatever Katie does, she puts her whole heart into it. In the past it was her military career as a helicopter pilot; today it’s challenging herself to compete in triathlons. I imagine Katie jogging through our neighborhood with our child snug in an all-terrain stroller. Our little one and I will cheer Mom on at her races. Katie has a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and is a manager at a manufacturing company about a mile from home. She can work from home, allowing her extra time to care for our child.

Our Home
We live in Greensboro, half way between the mountains and the beach! Our neighborhood is very family-friendly and close to good schools. We will keep cool all summer long at our community pool. We especially look forward to watching our child playing with Rokky in our big backyard and creating chalk design masterpieces on the driveway. We believe family memories and traditions are a key part of a happy childhood. During Halloween we love to hang up spooky lights and dress our candyhelper, Rokky, in her best costume. We can’t wait to show our child how to carve jack-o-lanterns and dress up for trick-or-treating. Birthdays will be full of crazy cakes, games, and tons of friends! Decorating for Christmas will be even more special when we build gingerbread houses together.
